Aged Care Events Queensland: Tall Trees Free Dementia Seminar

on Thursday, November 21, 2013

Private aged care provider Tall Trees Rochdale will hold a series of free information sessions about dementia for local seniors and their families, on Saturday, 15 December as part of their Open Day.

The seminar will be presented by Tall Trees Director of Care Gae Munsie who says it’s important for seniors and their families to have a strong knowledge about dementia.

“While it’s not something that people necessarily feel comfortable discussing, it’s vital information that can improve the quality of life for seniors and make the care process much easier than it would otherwise be,” she said.

“While it’s not something that people necessarily feel comfortable discussing, it’s vital information that can improve the quality of life for seniors and make the care process much easier than it would otherwise be,” she said.

“Unfortunately, there is a stigma associated with dementia and it may get ignored or played down by seniors and their families, which inevitably causes more harm than good.”

The aim of the seminar will be for participants to understand the impact of dementia and a practical understanding of how to handle it.

Other Open Day events include a discussion on preventing financial fraud, tours of the apartments and many more free events.

Lunch will cost a Gold coin donation and Morning Tea will be available at 10am at a minimum cost.

Tall Trees Rochedale is located at 28 Sunningdale Ave, Rochedale. For more information and to view session times visit www.talltrees.net.au
