Benetas was established in 1948 when a small group of volunteers from the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne responded to an urgent need to provide care and support to older Victorians. More than 60 years later we now operate as a not-for-profit organisation employing over 1,400 staff and 400 volunteers. As a not-for-profit, all revenue we generate is re-directed into our services to improve the lives of our clients.
Our Hawthorn facility is located in Hawthorn East, just 7km from Melbourne’s city centre. The historic area is home to a range of parklands, shopping, entertainment, medical and transport services. This includes Burke Road, a bustling hub of shops, cafes and restaurants, and the iconic Camberwell Fresh Food Market.
