Kankinya Aged Care Facility

Kankinya offers a safe and caring environment, catering to the needs of a wide range of elderly residents. Our fully qualified staff offers a wealth of experience as well as specialising in dementia care.

Kankinya offers both permanent resident placement and short term respite care placement.

Nursing and Allied Health Services
Registered nursing staff are rostered over the full 24-hour period aided by certified nursing assistants at all times to deliver comfort to both the resident and their family with the knowledge that their loved one is in good hands.

A case management module is implemented so that an RN oversees individual resident assessment and ongoing care. Residents have access to allied health professionals i.e. gerontologist, physiotherapist, podiatrist, dietician, speech pathologist, dentist and others. Each resident has own choice of attending general practitioner.

Hospitality Services
All of our meals are cooked on site by the facility chef, who can cater for every taste. Menus are varied and all food is cooked fresh daily. All laundry is washed on site, folded and delivered to the rooms.

The cleanliness and maintenance of the facility is managed by a dedicated team of on-site contract cleaners.

Activities
We have a diverse activity program that is tailored to the wants and needs of residents. Most of our residents respond positively to the Music Therapist, other residents to the Art therapist, Soft Tissue Therapist and recreational activities offered by the Recreational Activities Officers.

Some examples of activities are: hand massages, manicures, group activities or one on one with craft, bingo, quizzes, outings, exercises, news reading and celebrations of cultural days.
