Kalyna Care is a not-for-profit aged care organisation caring for older Victorians since 1984, delivering compassionate and personalised services with a special emphasis on European traditions. While many of our traditions are Ukrainian, we embrace the cultures of all our residents mainly from Eastern European countries and especially from Slavic cultures. A European ambience throughout our home provides comfort and familiarity, with cultural and traditional décor, activities and meals.
We offer a variety of accommodation in single private bedrooms with their own ensuite bathrooms

Leisure and Lifestyle Activities
At Kalyna Care, our approach focuses on enabling people to participate and contribute to everyday life, to the best of their ability and in a meaningful way. Our programs encompass the social, physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual aspects of our residents’ lives, honouring and respecting them as individuals and for what they bring to their community, regardless of age or ability. We support our residents to participate in activities which may take them out of their comfort zone, and love to hear them say that they are “so happy to learn something new”. We have a resident cat ‘Mia’ who loves to be taken on walks in her own ‘cat stroller’ when the residents go on their walking trains. Our Lifestyle team create wonderful memories for our residents with a variety of activities from planting flowers and vegetables in the gardens to fruit picking and afternoon tea on a bus outing. We also have concerts, petting farms, animal encounters and yearly chicken hatchlings that arrive as eggs and go home as baby chickens!
Hotel Services
Our delicious food is made onsite by qualified chefs and designed by our Hotel Services Manager who is also a chef. Designed to be comforting and familiar to our residents, the menu is based mainly with an Eastern European flavour that our residents enjoy. We operate our own 7-day a week laundry and cleaning services with our own staff and managed by our Hotel Services Manager.
