At Arcare Pimpama’s Annual Christmas Party, residents and team members gathered out in the foyer to enjoy a wonderful Christmas carols performance.
Christmas will arrive a little early for residents living at Mercy Place Woree this week, as a group of local well-wishers deliver Christmas cards, gifts and bon-bons to the not-for-profit home to spread some festive cheer.
In this week’s budget update, an additional 10,000 Home Care Packages will be made available for older Australians, allowing them to stay living in their own homes for longer. This announcement comes as part of a $1 billion investment to reduce the waitlist for in-home care, one of the key recommendations in the aged care royal commission’s interim report.
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission is calling on all aged care providers to enable and support their residents to be visited safely by family members and friends – especially over the holiday period when we are all looking to reconnect with people who matter to us.
