Bethanie Resident Celebrates 110th Birthday

on Tuesday, February 7, 2017

Bethanie, one of Western Australia’s most well known not-for-profit aged care and retirement living providers, will be celebrating resident Thelma McLeod’s 110th birthday on Monday 13 February at Wearne Cottesloe, managed by Bethanie on behalf of Curtin Care.

As part of Bethanie’s ongoing commitment to encouraging engagement and sociability amongst residents, Thelma will be joined by family, friends and fellow residents for an afternoon tea celebration in the Porthole Lounge at Wearne Cottesloe.

Thelma has been residing at Wearne Cottesloe; managed by Bethanie on behalf of Curtin care for the past 15 years and her son John credits Bethanie's great care to his mother still being alive today. Wearne Cottesloe Facility Manager Janeen Karsten said, “Thelma was admitted to Wearne Cottesloe in December 2001 and has been with us for 15 years.”

“She had a minor health setback when she had a hip replacement in April 2015, but was up walking again within a few weeks. Thelma is a very determined lady and constantly relays how happy she is to be among friends at Bethanie.”

Thelma has five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
