Resthaven Mount Gambier's Fifth birthday Celebrated with Winter Christmas Dinner and a $1m Revamp Announcement

Earlier this month, Resthaven Mount Gambier celebrated it’s fifth birthday with a Winter Christmas Dinner. Residents gathered the main hall and enjoyed traditional Christmas fare.

Resthaven Board President, Mark Porter, visited the site to join in the celebrations, along with Darren Pike, Senior Manager, Residential Services. Everyone enjoyed Christmas in July – the weather suited a hot meal!

The Resthaven Board recently approved a $1 million significant refurbishment that is currently underway at the state-of-the-art home at 24 Elizabeth Street, Mount Gambier.

"We are excited about the improvements to the site, which will include installation of smart televisions in every resident’s room, enclosing the café space and balconies on the upper floors to become all-weather environments, and installing solar panels," said Manager, Lisa Sutcliffe.

This is in addition to existing features, including all single rooms with ensuite bathrooms, climate control, courtyard gardens, a multifunction hall, cosy lounge areas, a hairdressing salon, internet café, chapel space and much more.

Built in response to strong demand for aged care services in the region, Resthaven Mount Gambier has lived up to the expectations of residents, staff, and the local community since it opened in July 2011.
