Mercy Place Rice Village’s highly anticipated Christmas Fair has been described as bigger and better than ever before with an array of goodies on sale.
Family, friends and Christmas shoppers called in to the Fair last Sunday to enjoy Devonshire tea, strawberries and cream, a barbecue lunch, raffles and a silent auction.
Stalls sold Christmas gifts, craft items lovingly made by residents, and delicious cakes, biscuits and gourmet preserves.
The annual Christmas Fair, organised by the Friends of Rice Village, raises money for the Marshall aged care home. Proceeds from past years have been used to purchase everything from garden chairs to fish tanks.
Friends of Rice Village treasurer Angie Hayes, who cracked 42 eggs to make her scrumptious lemon butter for the fair, said the Christmas Fair was hugely popular among residents and the community.
“It makes their day, they really look forward to it,” Ms Hayes said.
