Aged Care Provider Benetas Hosts Unique ANZAC Commemoration Event Connecting Servicemen of Past and Present

on Tuesday, April 21, 2015

Yesterday, not for profit aged care provider Benetas hosted a special intergenerational ANZAC commemoration event connecting current and former Victorian servicemen to share and compare their experiences.

Benetas supports a large number of war veterans through its Residential, Home Care and Respite including Veterans’ Home Care service, and Independent Living services.

The unique ‘meet and greet’ morning tea was held at one of Benetas’ beautiful residential aged care facilities, Benetas Broughton Hall in Camberwell.

Benetas clients, all of whom are war veterans, and one nurse joined current soldiers from the Royal Victorian Regiment, 5/6 Battalion.

Benetas is committed to celebrating the lives and experiences of its clients, and as part of this particularly recognises the contribution of their clients who served time in combat.

Benetas Innovation, Research and Policy Manager, Dr Amee Morgans, said the event truly recognised and commemorated the contribution of both current and past servicemen, and thanks them for what they have done for our country.

“ANZAC Day means so much more than simply marking the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli in 1915.
“It is the day we remember all Australians who served for our country.

“The spirit of ANZAC lives on in stories of courage, mateship, and sacrifice,” said Dr Morgans.
Benetas clients across the organisation will join millions of Australians to commemorate ANZAC Day on Saturday 25 April 2015.
